Life Science Network features two different modules related to scientific publications.

The Publications module of the Life Science Network was one of the first modules we developed. The basic idea is to allow members of our network to share their research with the community. Aside from the manual upload of publication details, the publications can be imported from PubMed.

The Publications module features post-publication review functions, including ratings and reviews.

Importing journal content

The Journal content module is the result of our effort to inform scientists about new research as soon as possible. We tried to import the freely available content published in scientific journals directly from publishers' pages using the RSS feeds they provide.

Members of our network can't add content through this module. Also, this module does not feature post-publication review options like the Publications module, but the content can still be recommended and commented.

Different use cases

The two modules described are similar, but they serve different purposes. You can use the Publications module to showcase your work and share your opinion on the research of others. The Journal content module you can use to browse through the latest titles published in some of the most popular scientific journals and stay in touch with the latest developments.

The Life Science Network features many other modules. Visit the network at https://www.lifescience.net/.
