Marim from Egypt had known about DESY long before this summer – though at first only from books and her studies. She is studying high-energy physics and had read about the research being carried out at DESY. So, when she finally arrived in Hamburg herself, one of the most exciting things for her was experiencing first-hand the place and the research she had previously only read about.
