We're a young startup at TUM in Garching, developing a blood test for the diagnosis and monitoring of cardiovascular diseases. To get there, we need to understand how our biosensor works under physiological conditions: in blood-like buffers and whole blood samples. You'll support us in the lab and will be directly involved in our experiments: helping prepare the required buffers and samples, running fluorescence assays and microscopy imaging to characterise how our biosensor molecules behave and degrade under increasingly realistic conditions, documenting and troubleshooting stability characteristics. You'll work in a well-equipped lab with high-throughput plate readers and a pipetting robot. The project is linked to an early-stage startup looking for its first team members, so you should enjoy a dynamic environment bridging academic research and entrepreneurship, and the idea of taking the first steps toward something that could become a real diagnostic tool. Prior wet lab experience is required, ideally in medicine, medical technology, biochemistry, biophysics, or a similar field. Previous experience handling blood or clinical samples is not required but beneficial. Hours are flexible and can match your schedule, 8h/week in total that you can reliably commit to in Garching.
