The doctoral position is part of the newly established Research Group Cultural Evolution of the Arts and the ERC-funded project Macroevolution of European Literature (MELT). The project investigates the long-term evolution of European literature (1800–2000) using large-scale literary datasets and computational methods. The successful candidate will contribute to building and structuring a comprehensive literary corpus and conduct hypothesis-driven research on the emergence, diffusion, and evolution of literary topics, styles, genres, and traditions across Europe.
