Applications are invited for the role of Data and Insights Analyst. This opportunity is open to current University of Cambridge employees only.
The Role
The role focuses on managing and analysing institutional data to support decision-making and statutory reporting within the university. It involves ensuring data accuracy and reliability, developing business intelligence (BI) dashboards and reports, and delivering actionable insights to a variety of internal stakeholders. Further responsibilities include conducting quantitative analyses, developing forecasting models, improving data processes and systems, contributing to regulatory submissions, and responding to information requests, such as Freedom of Information (FOI) requests. The postholder also trains users on data tools, manages incoming queries, and presents analytical outputs to both internal and external audiences.
About You
Educated to first degree level, the ideal candidate will have experience in analysing complex data and working with large, multi-source datasets, together with a sound knowledge of statistical methods and their appropriate use. Experience of business intelligence and management information tools such as Tableau and Alteryx is important, and strong analytical skills, a high level of numeracy and the ability to explain complex numerical and financial information are essential.
