The University of Cambridge is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Policy, Governance and Compliance Manager to play a pivotal role in the leadership and assurance of the Student Support Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior administrator with strong governance, policy and analytical expertise to contribute to services that directly support student wellbeing across the collegiate University.
Working closely with the Head of Student Support, you will lead the Department's governance arrangements, ensuring robust oversight, high quality reporting and effective compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements. You will act as Secretariat to the Joint Wellbeing Committee and other key governance groups, drafting policy papers, shaping the annual cycle of business and providing authoritative advice.
You will oversee departmental policy development, horizon scanning and audit activity, including clinical audit, ensuring that services remain aligned with best practice and sector standards. You will also lead engagement and communications activity, managing the Student Support website, coordinating the Student Advisory Forum and supporting the implementation of the Student Engagement Strategy. You will also contribute to the University's suicide prevention work, including Serious Incident Case Reviews and training for Senior Tutors. The role involves significant cross University and external collaboration.
You will bring substantial experience in a senior administrative role within Higher Education or a similarly complex, regulated environment. You will have excellent written communication skills, strong policy and governance expertise, and the ability to analyse complex information and provide clear, evidence based recommendations. Highly developed interpersonal skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders are essential.
