The University of Cambridge's Information Services (UIS) are looking to recruit an HR Coordinator to join the UIS HR Team on a 9-month internal secondment basis to support with an upcoming recruitment campaign, as well as ongoing HR duties.
Reporting to one of the HR Advisers, you will join a friendly HR team and will work closely with colleagues across the Department, as well as the wider University such as the Compliance, Payroll, and Grading teams.
We are looking for an organised and proactive individual who will have previous HR experience and will have worked in a customer focussed HR environment. Knowledge of employment law and understanding of HR best practice are essential. You will be familiar with and have working knowledge and competence of IT packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
The ideal candidate will have recruitment experience, excellent communication skills, and take a proactive and flexible approach to their work. You will also have an understanding of confidentiality and have the ability to remain calm and professional as well as working collaboratively with others.
Some key responsibilities are:
Providing clear and accurate advice to individuals and managers on HR and Recruitment policy and some employment relations issues.
Co-ordinating the UIS recruitment processes.
Conducting Right to work checks for new starters and existing University employees.
Carrying out general administration relating to HR processes.
Perform payroll related duties.
Gather, collate and analyse HR and payroll data.
Provide a clerical/secretarial service and arrange and attend meetings and take minutes/notes.
The role is offered on a hybrid working basis with the existing team attending on-site one day per week.
